Multiply Mountain is a set of free multiplication math games for kids from age 7. Questions are framed as equal groups, such as “4 groups of 3”, and drawn as rows of counters so children can see why 4 × 3 is 12.
It practises multiplication facts the way they are first taught: groups, then repeated addition, then the fact itself. The largest table grows with the level and the stage, up to 12 × 12.
Each stage unlocks the next. Every question has four answer choices, a hint on request and a worked explanation, and parents can follow progress from the progress page.
In England, children learn the 2, 5 and 10 times tables in Year 2, the 3, 4 and 8 times tables in Year 3, and all the tables up to 12 × 12 by the end of Year 4, when schools run the Multiplication Tables Check.
Multiply Mountain grows the same way: choose your child’s Year in settings and the tables in each stage get larger, reaching every table up to 12 × 12, including the 11s and 12s, at the top stage of Year 4. It is not a timed test; every question shows the groups as a picture, and the hint builds the answer one group at a time.
More worlds: Addition games, Subtraction games, Fraction math games. See all addition and subtraction games and practice worlds, or find your child’s grade or Year page.
Multiply Mountain opens from age 7 (US 2nd grade, England Year 3). The largest table grows with the learning level and the stage, up to the 10 times table at the top level.
Every question shows the groups as a picture, the hint explains how to add one group at a time, and the explanation writes out the repeated addition.
No. There is no countdown. Speed comes from understanding and repetition; a timer too early tends to make children guess.
Five questions, usually a few minutes. Short sessions are the point.
