Number Grove is a set of free addition games for kids from age 5. Each question asks how many there are altogether, and the numbers grow with your child’s learning level, from sums within 10 up to three-digit totals.
Small sums are drawn as counters first, so younger children can count them; as the numbers grow, the hints switch to counting on and splitting a number into easier steps.
Each stage unlocks the next. Every question has four answer choices, a hint on request and a worked explanation, and parents can follow progress from the progress page.
The level you choose in settings sets the size of the numbers. Roughly:
More worlds: Subtraction games, Multiplication math games and times tables, Fraction math games. See all addition and subtraction games and practice worlds, or find your child’s grade or Year page.
Number Grove opens from age 5. The size of the numbers follows the learning level chosen in settings, so an older child sees larger sums.
They see a hint such as “Start at 7. Count forward 5 more.” and a worked explanation, then move on. Nothing is lost for a wrong answer.
